Getting Urantia search engine program installations working

The Urantia word index search engine and thesaurus works and is ready for a preliminary alpha. All that's left is to get the installs done.

Found my Windows, Linux, Apple desktop installations I had working in January. Will bring those up to speed and place on the Internet for download.

Tried my hand this week at getting an install for Android. I'm having some major difficulties getting the Google Studio for Android working on Linux. I may try to a Windows box to create the Android system, that appears more refined than the Linux Google Android setup system.

Persistence, persistence, persistence. No matter the difficulty, persistence makes it all work.

Android

I'm putting the Urantia book search system on Android app store as soon as it's ready.

Could only put in about 4 hours today. It's Marlene's birthday party today so tomorrow is another day and I think we're going to the beach. Monday, I'm at the Aquaponics farm so Tuesday is the next day of being able to attempt to put the index on Android.

Since I'm doing Urantia book stuff I think I'll revisit the trip to Paradise in 3d and see how far I can get with that one. Although I believe that engine may have to wait till November when my sdk releases it's next version which I hope supports a better implementation of 3d. SDK, that's a programming environment or software development kit.

Index and Thesaurus of Urantia book.

I mentioned to Susan Cook that I had a word index search system of the Urantia book and it incorporates a thesaurus in it with a table of contents.

Had to search through my archives but I found it. You can search the Urantia book by typing in words and the current word shows a thesaurus result also.

It works in Linux. I need to recompile in Windows and Android.  Need an install system. Hope it won't take long.

I believe I can do more than just find paragraphs where the words appear.  There's find words that appear a certain distance away from each other. Words that are on the same page, etc.

Also there's a lot of cleanup to do

Maybe within the week.

Jan 2014

In January of 2014 I awoke in the middle of the night to a concept that will, for the rest of my life, be the guide to understanding everything that was, is and ever will be. I've found that the concept is so simple as to evoke feelings of simplicity so I am timid in my presentation till the full force of the concept has been laid out. To explain it is very complicated, to experience is simple.

We are. To most humans this is a ridiculously simple concept. It is assumed that the Universe exists on it's own and that it is the foundation of life. Looking through the telescope of my being this is so obviously backward. The nature of being is far too over-embracing as to be based on particles of sub-atomic makeup, the matter/energy realm.

Look inside yourself and you will, if diligent and dutiful to the truth, realize that life is based on the personal reality of a being rather than the dead rocks and particles of space.

If there was no being there would be no beingness. How could life be if there wasn't a being to recognize the conceptual reality of beingness? Science does not explain the uncaused cause of causes. It is, though, very powerful in removing what religion isn't. Fundamental religious beliefs of an Atheist is, for me, just as fundamentalistic as those who believe the father of life would allow his children to burn forever for a mistake made while the child was blind, that is, as a creature. Both beliefs are fundamentalistic. In regards to Atheism, I've found that most beliefs in these automatonic views are based on an unconscious reaction to fundamentalistic religions. Because of this, they are basically blameless. But before I sound too condemning please understand that if you are sincere, I support your belief as I know that it will lead back to the nature of true reality, the father of life.

Eternity is personal not impersonal. It is impossible for eternity to be impersonal. The very foundation of life is based on there being a being who can recognize the fact of life. Because of this basic nature of life then it follows that there must, in all regards, be a father that causes life in an uncaused way.  To say that he is a God would almost be an insult as he is so personal that the thought of not loving his children as a father would be foreign to his nature.

Now, if you've read this far, then let me try to explain the deep conceptual view that awakened me that fateful night. The father of life 'is' life because life is personal. The core of being starts with one being and only one being. That is the only way that it can be. There are only two alternatives, beingness or Nullness. Since life 'is', then Nullness is not, and so the father 'is'. If you look deep inside yourself you'll see that this is the only way. This is the personal proof that there is a father to life. A source of all that is.

Don't be fooled by the elaborate start of the scientific way. Science (matter/energy) leads to meanings and philosophy (mind) and mind leads to the awareness of Amness (spirit) and spirit leads to the personal (The I AM).

No longer is my foundation the Earth beneath my feet. My foundation is the family that represents every concept that envelops my existence. Life is determined moment by moment because it is being recreated in every moment in an extremely unique way. It is based on the communication of your family that exists around you, life is co-created. Every concept in eternity is a being. This is the way the father creates and experiences life, through his children. Through the unique lens that is you. Even the shadows around you are completely unique to the person next to you. Cannot you rise to the fact that life is unique moment to moment and everything is different from the prior moment? You cannot live in the past nor the future, that is an impossibility. You have only lived in the now and it is completely dynamic. The only reason concepts appear uniform is that there 'cause' is uniform. The beings that 'are' the concepts that you experience will always be those concepts and even though you can only experience a shadow, a sliver of what you will co-create with these beings, it is real.

One day you will stand in the presence of the father and through him you will see every personal pattern of existence, every concept, that is, every being.

 The father is love.

Hal and Virtual Urantia

It's been a while now since I've done anything with Virtual Urantia and the indexing system for the Urantia book. Soon I will have a cross platform system that will run on Android and Apple Smartphones. Maybe 3 months, maybe by the end of 2016. But then again the 3d side may take till the end of 2017.

When it is finished, I will once again continue on my quest to present 3d views of Earth and the architectural worlds the way they are described in the Urantia book. Hopefully it should all work across all platforms.

The Nature of the Father

The fact of being is greater than all other realities. No other concept is equivalent in any form. If you are, then you have everything, if you aren't, then you have nothing. If you lose yourself, you have lost everything.

Many are convinced that you can harm without repercussion. By harming life, you harm yourself.  The true rules are the rules of the father. In answering why the father allows temporary trouble, I usually answer something like this: He would not destroy eternity to keep one planet happy by breaking the rules of time and space. Because of his love for other civilizations, he is willing to allow you to wreak temporary havoc. His love allows the temporary pain of a lost civilization.

All that you experience around you, at this moment, is the expression of your self in co-creation with the beings who have reached perfection. Your environment does not exist outside of you. This delusion is predicated upon thing gaining capacity of being and the temporary reliance on science and it's grasp of the lower levels of reality.

Thing is the momentary scaffolding upon which your being experiences other beings in eternity. Things, that is, the universe, is re-created moment by moment by your temporary adaptation to beings who are partially reflecting eternity in a moment by moment reflection that causes what you consider your environment. Eternity, then, is created moment by moment for your pleasure.

The fullness of your environment is predicated upon your capacity for reality, that is, your capacity to Love.Do the right thing everyday and your capacity will grow. When you do this, your environment will morph into it's true reality, the self-hood of paradise. Step by step, your adventure will grow. You will awaken, step by step, to the fact that you are real! Your currently closed spiritual sight , which beckons you to awaken, will arise like a true child of eternity.

YOU ARE MORE THAN HUMAN BUT NOTHING I SAY TO YOU will convince you otherwise. You must earn the privilege of knowing yourself. You must believe with everything that is you and your true eyes will open and you will see that your eternal family was around you all along. They, your true loves in eternity, have never left your side. Nor will they ever, as you are more beautiful that you can possibly imagine. Your are more powerful than you can possibly imagine. You are real, you are Love.

The Urantia Book book indexing system

The platforms
Now that I have an embedded platform working on the Raspberry PI computer, I can now begin the conversion to different embedded systems. First Android smartphones, then Apple smartphones then Native Client for all computers. The indexing system does not use 3d so it can be the first to move to the Android platform and will be placed in the Android app store.

The need for a fast indexing system
First the program can be used to create indexing lookups for all the languages that are translated, irrespective of their fonts by using the current translations.

Next, I’ve found a need for a fast indexing system of the Urantia Book. So many times I’ve needed information fast but found the Internet not suitable when compared to native speeds. I have a working system on Linux and Windows but it has too many problems to be ultimately usable, the first is portability, the second is size. Speed is not an issue.

Also, I use this indexing system in the 3d Virtual Urantia trip to Paradise and would like it efficient with speed and size.

The Description of the program.
This is a description of a fast indexing and lookup system of the content of the Urantia Book. This is already working but it has a few problems. The method I use is instantaneous and works much like the Folio system which was once created for the book in the past. This following method is modernized with a GUI front end and has a coordinated thesaurus look up within the book. That is, a thesaurus that is unique to the Urantia book so that you can easily add multiple word lookups from the thesaurus window. For instance when you select home, abode shows up in the thesaurus window and can be easily added to the word list. This is complete and working in the desktop version.

I’ve found that the current databased index works well but is far too large and doubles the information in internal lists as it fills in those internal lists from the database (sqlite db). It takes a long time to download and it takes a long time to fill in these internal lists. So I skip all this wasted time (filling in the lists) and space (doubling the memory) problems by creating a hard programmed list internal to the program, which first, makes for easy transport as the book is internal to the program and it can be traversed mathematically instead of using indexed lists with positions and database indexing schemes. It has the added benefit of being as small and fast.

I have a lot of experiences with this work in publications at various positions I’ve held throughout the industry and I am familiar with the methods here presented.

Most of the mathematics is done up front when creating the index and speeds the manipulations of the words at run time.

The method of creating the index:

The ‘words’ list.
First we create a list of all the words in the book in unique format. No word is repeated twice. This first list is be used when running the program (runtime).

Secondly, the program creates a list with the words and positions within the first list. This second list is used when creating the various following lists, that is, when we create the index (creationtime). It holds a hash based lookup system so that I can look up a word very rapidly when formatting the following lists.

The ‘book’ list
The ‘book‘ list is next. It is a list compacted together with 2 bytes per word in book order and these 2 bytes represent a position in the ‘words’ list. This saves a lot of space as saving the entire word takes one byte for each character of a word. Also this ordered ‘book’ list is used  for the ‘index’ and ‘content’ lists which hold a mathematic position within the book.

In this fashion we won’t need to save all the words in the book, it takes only two bytes per word. The recomposition speed in the runtime program is trivial using this method.

The ‘thesaurus’ list
The thesaurus list is formatted this way.
1. It’s position in the ‘words’ list. (2 bytes)
2. The number of words (1 byte)
2. followed by the index into the ‘words’ list of every synonym ending the synonyms for that word. (2 bytes for each synonym)

The ‘content’ list
The ‘content’ list holds all the title levels. It’s formatted this way:

1 The Title type. (1 byte)
2. The position in the ‘book’ list (3 bytes)
3. The number of words in the title. (1 byte)

The ‘index’ list
The index will be the biggest list and is formatted this way.
1. The index position within the ‘words’ list (2 bytes)
2. The number of occurrences within the book. (2 bytes)
3. 3 bytes for each word occurrence in the book. (3 bytes each)

The runtime program
My first issue is screen space. On desktops or tablets it’s not too much of a problem. There is a limited amount of space on the screen of a cell phone. Compounding this problem is the need for fast information exchanges.

The program is separated into 6 virtual spaces each with their peculiar way of presenting the information.

1. The word index selection.
2. The references section
3. The Title content and paragraphs for quick perusal and scrolling.
4. The Title Contents of the book
5. The Book content proper.
6. Options

Breakdown of the 6 spaces.

The following comes from the working desktop version.

1. The word index selection.

The top left of the screen is the words to lookup in the book. Here you can place the words and operators. ‘home and father’ or ‘(home or abode) and father’ and the like. The bottom left is the a single word within the ‘thesaurus’ list. The right window is the ‘words’ list.

2. The References Section

Here we can scroll through each reference. When selected it jumps to the book content window where the book can be read from that position.

The paragraphs Section
Unfortunately I don’t have a screen shot at this time. I’ll add it later. This section is the same as the references section with the exception that the paragraph contents (words) are added. They can be scrolled. Clicking on a paragraph jumps to the book content window also.

The Tree Section
The tree section is a very fast way to jump to any part of the book. By clicking on the tree leaves one can open that paper/section/subject very rapidly. When double clicked by finger or mouse,  the book content window is opened where the book can be read from that position.

The Book Section

This is where the book can be read. The word index selection is highlighted but can easily removed.
System Options Section.
Here are the different options for enlarging or shrinking the size of the text. I will add other options when the cell phone/tablet versions are ready.

Future thoughts
I will eventually add a comment section so that comments can be added to any paper/section/subject/paragraph/sentence of the book. Here I would like to add my internet programs to database the information for anyone who wants to make the comments available on the internet for anyone to peruse.
